MADE IN THE USA - 48x60” One-of a-kind artwork created by Ohio artist, Rebecca Hutchins. Art Nouveau entitled “1920” Acrylic, paper, and gold leaf and mixed artificial leaf on canvas. If framing is selected, it ships mounted in a gold metal floater-style frame. To save on shipping, you may select not stretched. If you choose to go that route, you will have it stretched and framed locally. This can be done at a framer or Michael's store.

This painting is inspired by the works of Klimt and adorned with gold leaf and mixed artificial leaf. This piece demonstrates the power women command. The archer stands firmly over her predecessors, ready to defend her rights and future women's rights. The raven on her shoulder advises her of prophecies and gives her insight. In stories, ravens often act as psychopomps, connecting the material world with the world of spirits. The 28 in the background is symbolic of her life-giving cycle. 1920 was the year women were granted the right to vote in the United States. Photos from various periods have been transferred to the canvas with a special process. Images from 1968 bra-burning, with women carrying signs like “votes for women”, and “Jail the rapist, not the victim” are pictured. Also, a woman with the “Third World Women’s Alliance” poster is shown. Abolitionist and warrior, Mary Ellen Pleasant is also there seated on the left side of the painting.
